The Tongmao Hotel (Tongmao dajiudian) is located in the Lujiazui Development Zone, in Shanghai's Pudong District. The hotel is 10 minutes drive from the financial and trading center of the zone and 5 minutes' drive from the main shopping center. Both the Hongqiao International Airport and the newly opened Pudong International Airport can be reached within 45 minutes by car.

In total there are 234 rooms in this four star hotel including standard & deluxe rooms and  family, deluxe & royal suites. Room facilities include central air-conditioning, an IDD telephone, a mini-bar, an in-room safe, a bath, and satellite TV. Other hotel facilities include a business center with conference rooms of various sizes, as well as many recreational facilities including a night club, a gym, a swimming pool, a tennis court, a beauty parlor, a sauna, a billiards hall, table tennis tables, and a bowling alley.

Although obviously not in the best of areas for the Shanghai traveler, the Tongmao does offer a fairly good range of restaurants to tempt the palate. The Brasserie Oriental Grill Room offers nice steaks and other western delicacies, the Four Reasons Cafe serves various western cuisines, the Huyongge serves various Shanghainese dishes and Dim Sum, and the Amaojiao offers Cantonese cuisine of high quality. All of these restaurants are good, and if you need to be situated in Pudong then you could do worse than the Tongmao and its reasonable prices.
