A Russian Tourism Promotion Office will open next month in Guangzhou and early next year, there will be Guangzhou-Moscow flights, at least one flight per week.

On September 28, 2007, Li Ming, Director of Guangzhou's Foreign Affairs Office, met with the first Russian Consul-General in Guangzhou, Mr. Kotov Sergey Lvovich. The Consul-General briefed Mr. Li on the operations of the Russian Consulate General in Guangzhou. Both parties pledged to work closely together to promote the exchanges and cooperation between Guangzhou and Russia in all related areas.


Mr. Kotov, Consul-General of Russian Consulate General in Guangzhou, was so proud of their effort in pushing forward the connection between Russian Federation and this south China province.

Mr. Kotov suggested Guangdong to inform them the province's detailed plan in international cooperation in education, trade and other fields so that they can find Russia partners for Guangdong.

Russian Consulate General in Guangzhou was established in June last year.
