The Guangzhou Metro Line 3 and Wangshengwei to Jinzhou sector of Metro Line 4 will face their first National Day holiday with the prospect of an unprecedented passenger flow. It is estimated that the daily passenger flow on October 1 will exceed 2 million people. In response to the situation, the Metro Company has made thorough arrangements so that all the trains of Metro Line 1 -- 4 will extend their services for an hour longer than usual from October 1 through the 3rd. The Metro Company reminds the public to payattention to the operating hours for the various stations on the routes that they use.
The peak hours for Metro Line 1 and 2 will be from 11:30 to 18:30 from October 1 to 3 with the train intervals of 3 minutes 25 seconds and 3 minutes 40 seconds respectively.
From September 29 to October 3, Metro Line 3, for the first time, will be able to define its peak passenger hours. The master line from Tianhe Passenger Transportation Station to Panyu Plaza will reduce intervals between trains from the current 6 minutes 10 seconds to 4 mites 55 seconds during the peak hours. The train interval for Metro Line 4 from October 1 to 3 will be cut from the current 9 minutes to 8 minutes 15 seconds.
On September 30, the peak hours for passenger flow is expected to advance with people returning early from work. To coordinate the availability of trains with the commute demand, the evening peak hours of Metro Line 1 and 2 will be moved up to 15:00 from 20:00. The train intervals for Metro Line 1 will be cut to 3 minutes 36 seconds with intervals for Metro Lines 2 set at 3 minutes 40 seconds and Metro Line 4 at 9 minutes.
